This term we have been learning about, 'Our Colourful World'. We have explored colour in a variety of different ways. We have conducted experiments with skittles to see how the colour changes with water and we have looked at mixing colours in different ways. The children have enjoyed talking about our world and thinking about different countries. We have been thinking about the changing seasons and reading stories all about our world, including Percy the Park Keeper and Handa's Suprise. In 'Let's Explore' the children have been using their imagination to make many wonderful creations.

Term 4 has been a whirlwind of discovery and adventure! The children have enjoyed being detectives and explorers this term. We started the term learning about David Attenborough and how he has helped to educate people about the animals of the world. We enjoyed exploring our own outside areas and looking for signs of what season it might be. We then became dinosaur explorers and learnt about carnivores and herbivores. In art we made our own dinosaur fossils and found out about the paleontologist Mary Anning. We also used collage to create our own animals using animal patterns. We painted and printed the jungle backgrounds. In science, we thought about the weather and the seasons of the year. In English our key text was, 'The Journey Home' and we learnt about the adventures of Hattie and her hatchlings. The children have thought about what animals came from eggs and made different Easter crafts. We ended the term learning about Easter and in RE, we discussed how and why some Christian's celebrate Easter.
